This was a painting I tried to make real. It was another attempt of putting action into a still painting. You can see that the meteorite has lighted the night sky. I wasn't sure what to do with this painting, but I grew to like it alot, and especially the colors. I feel that people who love space and astronomy might enjoy this painting.
About Douglas Beatenhead
My name is Douglas Deleath Beatenhead, and I was born on May 30th, in the year of 1952. The images you see are from decades of work. For the last twenty or thirty years of my life this is what I have created. I became interested in watercolors since I was very young. Now I'm beginning to find an interest in Acrylics too. I try very hard to put action and moods in my paintings. I also love to work with a lot of colors, and I try to make them deep and rich. Every painting I do takes days to arrive at a level of my satisfaction. It has become apparent to me that my paintings appear strange and different from many other watercolor works I've seen. I like to concentrate on new and different images that inspire intelligent and creative...

Douglas I think this may be prophetic. You posted this early last year and this year we are having lots of fireballs falling near or to earth. Your paintings seems to have richer color now...I like!
