About Douglas Beatenhead
My name is Douglas Deleath Beatenhead, and I was born on May 30th, in the year of 1952. The images you see are from decades of work. For the last twenty or thirty years of my life this is what I have created. I became interested in watercolors since I was very young. Now I'm beginning to find an interest in Acrylics too. I try very hard to put action and moods in my paintings. I also love to work with a lot of colors, and I try to make them deep and rich. Every painting I do takes days to arrive at a level of my satisfaction. It has become apparent to me that my paintings appear strange and different from many other watercolor works I've seen. I like to concentrate on new and different images that inspire intelligent and creative...

This might be my favorite of yours so far. There is definitely something beautifully mystical about it, it really captures that special midnight atmosphere.

Douglas everytime I look at your art, I enjoy it more...it really is growing on me. This one is secret genius after you discover the movement and flow looking at it from a distance and the mood created by the night and moon and it's reflection on the leaves and water...just love it as so many of your other works. Maybe we will be more apprecitated later when our decendents will see it happen? Well I see in now in you...thanks and keep on creating. God bless you! L and F!
